COVID-19: Over 500 New Infections Recorded In Nigeria - Highest Count In 15 Weeks

 


Nigeria has a new record of 500 new coronavirus infections in daily count in 15 weeks since the record August 22 2020 where about 550 new cases were recorded in a day.



The record on Tuesday showed that there was an increase from 390 which was earlier recorded on Monday bringing the total number of Infections recorded in Nigeria to over 70,000.



The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) reported on Tuesday  that 550 new cases were confirmed in 16 states and also the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with Lagos which had earlier on Monday recorded less than a hundred cases now topping the list with 219 new infections and the FCT following closely with 168 new infections while Kaduna recorded 52 new cases.

The NCDC also reported that 65,000 people had recovered, 163 patients were discharged and one death was recorded which increased the death toll to 1,182.


65,110 out of the 70,195 recorded cases of infections have recovered. There has also been a decrease in number of active infections from 3,517 to 3,903 within 24hrs.
