IGP Adamu Mohammed Allegedly Rejects Letters From Hundreds Of Police Officers In Lagos Seeking To Leave The Nigeria Police Force

Some senior police officers have revealed that resignation letters from hundreds of police officers across the country have been rejected by the Mohammed Adamu the Inspector-General of Police.
The officers who chose to remain anonymous were reported to have complained about the humiliation they allegedly suffered from hoodlums after 6 police officers were lynched, 36 critically injured and 46 police stations burnt in Lagos when hoodlums invaded the streets after the #EndSARS Protest which rocked the country.
According to a news report, by a news agency the Guardian, one of the senior officers said,
“ There is no amount of talk that will calm the anger of policemen. We are very angry. Many of my colleagues tendered their resignation, but they are not accepting it. The morale is terribly low. Our officers were dehumanised. Some were killed. Many of us don’t have offices anymore. Nigerians should ask us to go if they don’t need police anymore. Are we not also Nigerians? Why should we be treated like animals? ”
IGP Adamu while visiting his men for the first time since the crisis, said about 1590 suspects for arson and looting across the country and further pledged to arrest more involved in humiliating men of the police force and help 'restore the pride of the force'. Stressing that standard protocol will henceforth be observed during Protests.
Speaking to policemen at the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja, he urged his men not to allow the actions of hoodlums stop them from carrying out their duties urging them to go back to their various duty posts and resume work without a grudge
