BREAKING : Lauretta Onochie's Nomination As INEC Commissioner, Rejected By Senate


The Nigerian Senate has rejected and asked President Muhammadu Buhari to reconsider the nomination of Lauretta Onochie the special assistant to President Muhammadu as National Electoral Commissioner representing the South-South region.

According a report by, the leadership of the Senate on Wednesday sent a memo to the presidency regarding his request for confirmation of Onochie.

A source further revealed that the senate gave a number of reasons for its refusal to confirm. Lauretta Onochie one of which is, the fact that it's unconstitutional to nominate her in the first place giving attention to her being a card carrying member of the All Progressives Congress APC.
