Human Trafficking Kingpin, Habibu Arrested In Katsina


The Police Command in Katsina State, arrested a Kingpin of human trafficking in Daura Local Government Area of the state.

Abubakar Habibu, a human Trafficking Kingpin in Daura LGA of Katsina state was arrested by the Katsina State Police Command along Kongolom-Daura Road Daura on 11 August 2020.

The police spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, in a statement issued on Saturday said that the suspect has been on the list of wanted persons in connection with a case of human trafficking which was under investigation.

Speaking further Isah said that the syndicate had speciality in use of motorcycles to convey their victims across the border shared by Nigeria and Niger Republic where victims were further trafficked to Libya and Europe noting that in the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime.

The command according to Isah has also arrested two other suspects, Abubakar Saidu and Jafaru Aminu, who were discovered to be in possession of  12 stolen cows and both live in Birnin-Gwari, area of Kaduna State.

Giving credits to the State Intelligence Bureau for providing accurate information, Isah said the arrest of both suspects who have confessed to receiving cows from bandits along Faskari Birnin Gwari axis which they intended to sell and make money from was possible because of information given by the Intelligence Bureau.
