One year after Abduction, the whereabouts of loyalist of Ex- Defense Minister and Former Governor of Kano remains unknown.
Abubakar Idris popularly known as Dadiyata was abducted from his home in Kaduna on the 1st August 2019.
Dadiyata until his Abduction was a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma in Katsina state, an ardent follower of former governor of Kano state and Ex-Minister Dr Ibrahim Rabiu Kwankwaso and a very vibrant youth leader in the Kwankwasiyya movement ; an Ideology put together after Kwankwaso.
According to Khadija the wife of Dadiyata, her husband had come back home that fateful Thursday night on the 1st of August 2019 and was about locking the gates when 2 men appeared and forcefully took him away in his car.
Khadija who like many other Nigerians suspected that Dadiyata’s abductors were men of the State Security Service (SSS) , due to the fact that at the time a handful of journalists were arrested round the country and detained and knowing that Dadiyata was critical of the governor of Kaduna state.
Some of which are:
1. Jones Abiri : A publisher and editor in chief of Weekly Source who was arrested on 21st July 2016 and detained for 2years by the SSS before being charged under Cyber crimes, Terrorism Acts and Anti-Sabotage Acts. While Abiri was in custody of the DSS he was not allowed to have access to his family.
2. Steven Kefas : A Kaduna born Journalist and Human Rights Activist who criticizes the Kaduna State Government and was arrested in Rivers state on 8th May 2019 for reposting articles published by SaharaReporters about a traditional ruler of Kajuru who was killed.
3. Agba Jalingo : A Publisher and Leader of a Youth group who was arrested for publishing articles about the Cross River state government and was charged with Treason.
4. Omoleye Sowore : Who was arrested on 3rd August 2019 for allegedly planning protests across the country.
MediaOrchid recalls that Khadija the wife of Dadiyata even sued the State Security service and the Kaduna police command but both agencies denied any knowledge of Dadiyata's arrest or having him in their custody. This gave birth to the question of "Where is Dadiyata?"
Following the denial of both security agancies, Physical and Online Protests rocked Nation as many Social Media Crusaders, Political, Religious and Human Rights and Civil Society Organizations protested, placing demands for the release of Dadiyata using the hash tags ;

Unlike others mentioned, surprisingly, 365 days after his forceful abduction, the whereabouts of Dadiyata still remains a mystery with so many unanswered questions.
