The Executive Governor of Rivers state Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has approved the dissolution of the State Taskforce on Illegal Street Trading and Motor Parks with immediate effect.
In a statement signed by Paulinus Nsirim the commissioner for Information and Communication on Tuesday 11 August 2020, it was revealed that the Special Assistant to the Governor in charge of the Task Force, Mr. Bright Amaewhule has been relieved of his appointment.
The Members of the Taskforce were also directed to return the operational vehicles and Identity Cards of the body to the Office of the Secretary to State Government(SSG) and were given the Ultimatum of not later than 4p.m tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
All affected persons will be paid their salaries upon returning official vehicles and Identity Cards.
The Taskforce will be reconstituted after proper orientation and training .
