WIPF, YWIPF, Others Conclude Capacity Building Training by WVL


The Women In Politics Forum (WIPF) and Young Women In Politics Forum  (YWIPF) have concluded a Capacity Building training on network Management and Advocacy.

The Training which lasted for 3 days kicked off on Friday July 10 2020 and came to an end on Sunday July 12 2020 was put together by the Women's Voice And Leadership in Nigeria (WVL) which is a project funded by Global Affairs Canada, Actionaid aimed at tackling the barriers to gender equality and supporting the empowerment of women and girls through provision of technical and financial resources to local Women's Rights Organizations (LWROs) to advance the Rights of Women and Girls and Champions Gender Equality.


The meeting comprised of heads of various  women  Organizations, and CSOs from different regions in Nigeria.


There was visible presence of Representatives of WIPF and YWIPF under the leadership of Barr. Mrs Ebere Ifendu the president of Women In Politics Forum in Nigeria.


Some topics treated and issues addressed centered around Civil Society Network, Management, Partnership Advocacy, Mentoring, Coaching and Policy Making in Nigeria while focusing on leadership, Governance and Management. Challenges that have been encountered by women through the years were outlined, extensively discussed and solutions penned down with ways to pursue implementation of all deliberated upon.

Working hand in hand with the WIPF and YWIPF were the League Of Women Voters in Nigeria basically because research has shown that in prioritizing advocacy issues these groups suffer the challenge of Women non inclusiveness in Politics and Governance.

Conclusively, Advocacy Goals were set to help groups achieve their target.
