The Chief of Army staff Tukur Buratai charged members of the special forces deployed to Katsina to give the fight against banditry their best effort.
Buratai at a dinner on Sunday 29 June 2020 with members of the STF assured that the Nigerian Army is well positioned and prepared to surmount all obstacles being encountered by the Armed Forces.
Speaking further, the chief of Army staff revealed that more weapons, equipment and man power manning will be employed to support for a successful attack and fight against banditry which has now become a menace.
Describing their assignment as sacred the army chief said
"You have no excuse for failure. You are professionals in your field. We are hopeful that the security challenges will soon be over. Whatever challenges you have we shall address them.
“We are bringing additional weapons ; we are bringing additional platforms,and we are bringing additional men. In fact some of the equipment have arrived Bauchi while some are even here already. Some of you may be moved to other locations to get things right there."
Buratai re emphasized the desire of President Buhari to see life restored to normal in Katsina state. He further instructed the members of the special forces not to allow themselves to be influenced with negativity making reference to social media propaganda.
